LASER CUTTER

In this module you will learn how to properly use the “self-serve” laser cutters located in the Architecture Building and in the Applied Sciences Building.

CUT SHEETS // ASSIGNMENT TWO

Setting up your cut sheets is one of the most important steps towards laser cutting safely and efficiently. Within this assignment you will be separating out your linework into layers by analyzing the positive and negative space of your drawing as well as determining background, middle ground, and foreground of your work.

LASER CUTTING // ASSIGNMENT THREE

Now you finally get to operate the laser cutter. You should have valid linework all laid out onto cut sheets and ready to get started on the machines. Keep in mind that this assignment is just a brief rundown of the steps you will need to take to operate the lasers. Please read through the laser cutter guide for the software you chose to use (Rhino or Illustrator) before proceeding to cut.
