The CAP Wood Shop (AB 029) makes an assortment of tools and equipment available to qualified individuals who have completed Tier training with Makercorps — or wood shop training with their faculty. Qualified users may work on course assignments or other investigations within the scope of the training they’ve earned. Report any injury to the shop supervisor or attendant on duty immediately.

Training Tiers

Authorization is earned by tier. Review the materials on the training page, then sign up for a certification session with a Makercorps student or faculty member — certification links to your BSU ID and unlocks independent access.

Completed wood shop training as part of your CAPFY experience prior to the 2022–2023 academic year? You should be set for Tier 1 and Tier 2. Questions about your status — consult the lab manager.

The Wood Shop Tool Room holds hand tools, power tools, clamps, and more. View what’s available in the WebCheckOut Patron Portal under Tool Room.

Unreturned tools are billed. Non-electrical tools: $10 per missing tool. Electrical tools: a fee correlating with the missing item. All fees are non-refundable.
