In this module you will begin learning how to properly use the Woodshop located in AB 029 of the Architecture Building.

In this module you’ll grasp essential principles of woodworking, craft predetermined projects, and acquire practical proficiency in utilizing both power tools and conventional techniques. This will empower you to adeptly conceive and construct your own woodworking endeavors with confidence. A woodshop is a dedicated space equipped with tools and equipment for woodworking activities. In a woodshop, participants are expected to learn fundamental woodworking concepts, use power tools and traditional methods, and create predefined projects to develop their woodworking skills and craftsmanship.

SEQUENCE

INTRO CONCEPTS // TIER ONE

In this module, you will learn to use the Band Saw for precision cuts, the Drill Press for accurate hole-making, and Sanders for smooth finishes. Hone your woodworking skills and unleash your creativity through these essential tasks.


PRECISION CUTTING // TIER TWO

You will design, cut, and assemble a project showcasing accurate angles and craftsmanship. Focus on creating seamless joints and a professional finish with the Miter Saw as a primary tool.


PARALLEL SURFACES // TIER THREE

This module covers a safety tutorial, planar joiner, and table saw tasks. You will learn safety protocols, practice planar joinery for smooth surfaces, and hone your table saw skills for precise wood cutting. The final project showcases your newly achieved mastery with a functional woodworking creation.


CNC ASSEMBLEY SET // B1

Students create a masterpiece using these tools. Tasks include hole drilling, secure fastening, smooth finishing, artistic cuts, precise shaping, and complex profiling. Emphasis on safety, accuracy, and creative execution.
