Required training is structured by year. Complete your certifications to unlock equipment access.

1st Year

Woodshop &
CRC Training

All first-year CAP students complete Woodshop Tier 1 and Tier 2 training and are introduced to the Communication Resource Center for large-format and laser printing needs.

  • 1 Complete Woodshop Tier 1 — Safety & Hand Tools
  • 2 Complete Woodshop Tier 2 — Power Tools & Joinery
  • 3 Get certified by a Makercorps student or faculty
  • 4 Visit the CRC (AB 011) for large-format & laser printing
  • 5 Sign in at the check-in desk before each shop session

2nd Year

Laser + 3D
Certification

Second-year students are required to complete laser cutter and 3D printer training and certification before using those machines independently.

  • 1 Complete the Laser Cutter online training module
  • 2 Get certified — certification links to your BSU ID
  • 3 Complete 3D Printer training (FDM + SLA overview)
  • 4 Schedule equipment via WebCheckOut
